अर्जुन ने भगवान के विराट रूप में अनेक चन्द्रमा, अनेक सूर्य देखे। ऐसी प्रज्वलित अग्नि देखी, जिससे सारा संसार झुलस रहा है। अर्जुन ने कहा हे भगवान पृथ्वी, आकाश सहित समस्त दिशाएँ एक आपसे ही परिपूर्ण दिखाई दे रही है। तात्पर्य यह है कि पुरे जगत में सर्वत्र ईश्वर ही व्याप्त है, उसके अतिरिक्त और कुछ है ही नहीं। अर्जुन ने देखा कि धृतराष्ट्र के सभी पुत्र, भीष्मपितामह, द्रोणाचार्य और कर्ण तथा पांडवों के पक्ष के भी सभी प्रधान यौद्धा भगवान के मुख में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं और कई तो चूर्ण हो भगवान के दाँतों के बीच में लगे हुए दिख रहे हैं। आगे अर्जुन ने कहा - जैसे नदियों के बहुत से जल प्रवाह समुद्र के सम्मुख दौड़ते हैं, वैसे ही शूरवीर मनुष्यों के समुदाय आपके प्रज्वलित मुखों में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं और जैसे पतंगे प्रज्वलित दीपशिखा की ओर खिचे चले जाते हैं और भस्म हो जाते हैं, वैसे हाँ यह सब लोक अपने नाश के लिए बड़े वेग से आपके मुखों में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं।

Arjuna saw many moons, many suns in the great form of God. Saw such a burning fire, due to which the whole world is burning. Arjuna said, O God, all the directions including the earth and the sky are seen as perfect only because of you. The meaning is that only God pervades everywhere in the whole world, there is nothing else apart from Him. Arjuna saw that all the sons of Dhritarashtra, Bhishmapitamaha, Dronacharya and Karna as well as all the chief warriors from the side of the Pandavas were entering the Lord's mouth and many were seen being crushed into powder between the Lord's teeth. Further Arjuna said - As many streams of rivers run before the ocean, so the communities of valiant men are entering your blazing mouths and as moths are drawn to the burning lamp-post and are consumed. Yes, all these worlds are entering your mouth with great speed for their destruction.
