याचना प्रार्थना
प्रार्थना वास्तव में श्रेष्ठता के लिए होनी चाहिए। हम श्रेष्ठ और सन्मार्गगमी बनें, दूसरों की सेवा-सहायता कर संकें और अपने साथ उन्हें भी ऊँचा उठा सकें। यह प्रार्थना है। स्वामी रामतीर्थ कहा करते थे कि लोकहित के निमित्त होने वाली इकाई भी याचना प्रार्थना के अंतर्गत आती है। जहाँ स्वार्थ सम्मिलित है, वहाँ, प्रार्थना नहीं है। यह दोनों रात-दिन के समान हैं, जो कभी इकट्ठे नहीं रह सकते। सरल शब्दों में कहें तो स्वार्थ-भाव को माँग कहेंगे तथा परमार्थ-भाव को प्रार्थना।
The prayer should really be for excellence. May we become elevated and righteous, be able to serve and help others and lift them up along with us. This is prayer. Swami Ramteerth used to say that the unit that is meant for public interest also comes under prayer prayer. Where selfishness is involved, there is no prayer. These two are like day and night, who can never live together. In simple words, selfishness will be called demand and charity will be called prayer.
